In February 2011 I was awarded a Distinction for a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice award. This is a Masters-level award designed to ensure excellence in teaching and learning in Higher Education, delivered on-campus at Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain by York St. John University. My Action Research project was on the socio-linguistic and cross-cultural communication dimensions of education reform initiatives in Bahrain, it is a substantial piece of work that derives data from Quality Assurance processes I had developed for BTC’s Continuing Professional Development programme, of which I was Academic Head:
